Power Partners Completes Purchase of Kuhlman Product Lines

ATHENS, GA, February 20, 2009 - Power Partners Inc. announced today it has signed a formal agreement with Kuhlman Electric Corporation to purchase Kuhlman's single and 3-phase pole-mounted and round submersible transformer product lines located in Versailles, Kentucky.
"This purchase continues a long-term business relationship between Power Partners and ABB, and is an excellent opportunity for us to grow our company," said Steve Hollis, president and chief executive officer of Power Partners.
ABB sold its pole transformer business to Power Partners in May 2003 and is now the manufacturer's representative and distributor for Power Partners products. ABB acquired Kuhlman in 2008.
Power Partners and Kuhlman will work with individual customers to transition product shipped after April 1, 2009. Power Partners, Kuhlman Electric and ABB will remain separate entities. A limited number of Kuhlman employees will be considered for open positions at Power Partners.
