Supplier of the Year

2015: Cogent Power

July, 2015

Power Partners honored Cogent Power of Burlington, Canada as Suppliers of the Year at a gala reception recently.

Suppliers of the Year are chosen to highlight them for going above and beyond expectations in the partnerships we’ve created. This award has been given annually for 10 years to various suppliers.

Cogent Power manufactures electrical steel cores for transformers. A partner since 2008, they now produce 100 percent of Power Partners’ needs for this product. They were chosen for the award because of the deep collaboration, their direct line to market movement and new product offerings, and their commitment to the holistic supply chain. This is the second year in a row that Cogent has received this award.

“Cogent shares our vision and is truly an industry expert in this field,” said Rebecca Ratz, Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager for Power Partners. “They help guide and direct us and make us a better company.”

The suppliers came together in Athens, GA to be honored at a reception. They also took plant tours and participated in the Dr. Sherrie Ford Memorial golf tournament. All proceeds were donated to Relay for Life Athens/Clark County.

2013 : Rea Magnet Wire Company

Power Partners’ 2013 Supplier of the Year is Rea Magnet Wire Company, a Fort Wayne, IN, company that is the second largest producer of magnet wire in the world. Everything that is electrically driven, from transformers to cars to computers, contains magnet wire.

“Rea, which has been a key supplier to Power Partners for nearly 20 years, was chosen for many reasons, including safety, quality, delivery, cost and outstanding commitment to customer service,” said Rebecca Ratz, Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager for Power Partners.  “Rea and Power Partners collaborate on safety initiatives, value stream mapping and blitz activities, and we actively work together to reduce lead time through streaming of procedures, consignment and other issues.  When Power Partners’ utility customers face crisis situations because of storms, Rea’s turnaround time is exceptional.  They always put Power Partners first.”

Rea has an outstanding safety record in its industry, and Power Partners employees have had no safety issues working with Rea’s components.
